The Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation held its annual Teammate Giving campaign from February through March to raise funds for Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast. The campaign, which began in 1995, gives CHS Northeast Teammates (employees) the opportunity to make gifts through payroll deduction or one-time gifts to support the foundation.
This year, the 2018 Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation Teammate Giving Campaign had a goal of raising $273,000. Thanks to the caring and giving hearts of CHS NorthEast teammates, their commitment to our patients and dedication to our hospital, the campaign raised a total of $278,000 during its 6-week run, ending on March 28.
A total of 115 new teammates signed up for the campaign and 136 teammates increased their pledge this year. The Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation is grateful to the nearly 1,900 teammates that support our hospital through the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation Teammate Giving Campaign.
To celebrate the success of this yearās Campaign, the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation treated the campaign committee, administration and members of the Executive Board of Directors to a Food Truck Party and Victory Celebration on Friday, April 20. CHS NorthEast teammates had a great time and presented a check to hospital president Phyllis Wingate, for the $278,000 raised this year. Also during the victory party, teammates enjoyed watching Ernie Glover, Campaign Chair, receive an ice bucket bath!
The Foundation would like to give a special thank you to Glover, Assistant Vice President of Womenās Services, for her leadership and direction during this yearās Campaign. As part of her 2018 challenge to teammates, Glover agreed to an ice bucket bath if the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation met its goal of raising $273,000. With no hesitation, Glover stepped up to the seat on Friday, April 20 to fulfill her commitment!
Teammates of CHS NorthEast understand more than anyone, the importance of care and support our patients and families receive at our community hospital. Patient need is great and to meet the demand for exceptional healthcare close to home, our hospital needs philanthropic support to continue to provide infrastructure, technology, equipment and educational programs. The Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation exists to raise funds for needs such as these.
