On behalf of the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation and our Atrium Health Teammates, we are pleased to announce the Rose Liberto Nursing Scholarship.
During the pandemic, we lost one of our own heroes, Rose Liberto, RN. Rose worked on the medical surgical unit and passed away from COVID-19 on May 7, 2020 at the tender age of 64. Family gathered by phone, and dozens of co-workers prayed and waited outside the ICU with candles and roses. Rose was known and loved by many.
A gift to the Rose Liberto Nursing Scholarship Fund will allow us to create a Nursing Scholarship at the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in Rose’s honor. Rose was very fond of education, health sciences and teaching, and she strongly believed in older adults going back to school.
An opportunity to honor and remember Rose has also been created in our Margie Campbell Healing Garden outside the Heart and Vascular Tower. A bench with a plaque will be placed in her memory and a row of Rose bushes will be planted.
The Rose Liberto Nursing Scholarship will assist in the education of the next caring and loving healthcare worker like Rose.
